My name is Darlene Avram. I’m a 64 year old proud mother of Amanda, my beautiful 31 year old daughter. Amanda has been diagnosed with epilepsy and has been diagnosed and assessed at birth with a brain abnormality which labels her Developmentally Disabled.
As an adult, Amanda is preparing for the next stage in her life. FSF have been helping me plan for Amanda’s next step in life, that being Amanda’s moving from her family home into a Shared And Supported Living arrangement with another young lady.
If these Services are no longer available, truely I won’t know just what foot to put first. As we aging parents ( I suffer from severe arthritis in both of my knees and am preparing for knee replacement surgery ) fight our way through All the Bureaucratic Red Tape involved in such a process, Or Even Just Our Daily Living Struggles, it would be extremely helpful to know that both Amanda’s Dreams for independence and the Vital Assistance FSF provide to me Won’t Be Terminated.
FAMILIES FOR A SECURE FUTURE ( FSF ) is Vital to Young and Aging Parents who are raising their children with the disabilities....Life is Worth Living To it’s Fullest and I truely believe that my daughter Amanda deserves to live her life to the Maximum !
Why would you even consider to jeprodize Amanda’s right to independence and happiness by cutting financial support to FSF ?? This agency works with dedicated closeness with all our Families to help improve the quality of life of a young adult with disabilities so why take that away ?
Please reconsider and Don’t Cut the funding to FSF !!
All young adults deserve as fulfilling a life as possible......
PLEASE LET IT HAPPEN FOR THEM ️ ️️
