What is Independent Facilitation Matters?

The Independent Facilitation Matters Coalition is made up of people with developmental disabilities, their family members and loved ones, and other allies who believe that Independent Facilitation makes a difference in the lives of people and families and should continue to be available in Ontario.

We believe that Independent Facilitation should continue to be funded by the Ministry of Children, Community, and Social Services.  For Independent Facilitation to be stable, it needs to be funded as a part of the Ministry’s budget for service and support offerings, not solely through a fee-for-service model, where people and families purchase supports with Passport or personal funds.

This website is a resource for people who believe in the value of Independent Facilitation to get up-to-date information and ideas for taking action.  Here, people and families can:
  • Connect and join together.
  • Stay up-to-date on important information.
  • Take action to make their voices heard through a number of different communication channels.

Doug Ford, like his late brother Rob, can’t make the leap from wanting to help on a personal level to seeing the necessary role of government, the Star editorial board writes. https://t.co/D4eTMFaZeH
